I am....
Slowing down! I struggle with blogging consistently, probably because I don't know if anyone is enjoying it (which makes it worth it). But maybe I'll keep this up for my own benefit to look back on later, like Facebook Memories. Sometimes I post things just to preserve the memory of day to day things 🥰
Here's what you've missed:
The week after my anniversary trip we stayed busy!
- Storytime at the library
- Lots of hair appointments (clients getting ready for summer 😎)
- A morning at the Splash Pad!
- I got to go grocery shopping by myself 🙌🏻 (Sorry no photographic evidence)
- We made moonsand 😬 (8C Flour 1.5C Baby Oil) Now this is super messy so if you attempt DO IT OUTSIDE, that being said it kept my girls busy for hours! Laila wore her "maker sings" because we mixed the oil and flour in my kitchen aid before bringing it outside on the front porch
- I can't say I've ever baked a box cake with my kids but when I saw an Aldi brand one with icing at the store a voice in my head said it would be a great idea to do with the kids and a fun/cheap snack. My MIL ended up doing it with the girls and they had a blast 🤗
- Asher attended a Mystery at the Library which was super fun! He loves a good mystery. We left there and grabbed some Chick-Fil-A for dinner 🤤 We got our food just as a crazy storm rolled through that knocked out the power! The whole kitchen cheered, one of the managers was so sweet and walked around telling the kids it was ok and not to be scared. The drivethru line was crazy long until people realized they couldn't make any more food! The staff was so sweet to do what they could, they began handing out sandwiches apologizing for the inconvenience as if it was their fault! Then they walked around handing out dinner mints. They locked the doors to keep new customers from coming in and held an umbrella over departing customers, walking them to their vehicles despite getting soaked in the process. We tried and failed to get a good pic of this selfless act. Once again CFA has the best customer service out there! We were so blessed and impressed by them!
- My sweet MIL took us to Sunni Skies for some ice cream after dinner one night! We have enjoyed keeping an eye on the progress of the kids new school next door too!
- Our church's Kidz Week was fast approaching so we'd volunteered to help set up. But they got everything done before the day we'd signed up for! That left us with some unexpected free time but we found some fun things to keep us busy. Laila was invited to her best friends birthday party so we got to go shopping for her!
- Wanna hear a fun story? Of course you do.
So some of you know we do dates with the kids each month and the month of June was Ana's date with Daddy. Tim asked her where she wanted to go for her date and she said "the beach" like it was something we do all the time. We looked at each other like I guess we have to take her to the beach 🤷🏼♀️ But that began the debate of do we all go or just her? We'd finally decided by Friday night we would pile into the car and go to Topsail for a few hours. But when we talked about it with Ana she was like "No silly, Laila can't come on my date!" We asked her if we could all come to the beach and she looked at both of us with a half smile on her face as if to say 'I think you want me to say yes but I really don't want to.' So it was decided - Ana and Daddy were going to the beach! Of course once they got there she didn't want much to do with the water but it was a wonderful memory made of the time they drove a round trip of 4 hours to spend 2 hours on the beach 😂
This week...
pretty much was all about Kidz Week at church. It was a rough week, I thought because we had nothing to do before we left for church but from what I hear from other mom friends it was rough for everyone!
On Thursday we tie-died shirts but my patience had already got up and went. Asher and Laila did not listen to me AT ALL and it was a miserable experience.
- I had a coaching call for my business, got my van inspected for our annual taxes, and worked on sharing health and wellness with more people 🥰
- We finished out the week spending the morning at a friend's pool, it was the perfect combo of fun and relaxing. My kids are already talking about going back! Laila lost her second tooth IN THE POOL 😳🦷 Guess the tooth fairy can't stop by this time.. 🧚🏻♂️
Friday night we had some friends over for dinner and did a few haircuts. Finding people you can be authentic with is priceless! We had such a great time!
Today is sleep in Saturday and boy did we sleep in! It was crazy! Laila didn't get up until 10:30! Next week is going to be a whirlwind... stay tuned 😉
