Finally an official due date! April 30, 2013 which is 5 days after Big Brother's due date. I am 11 weeks and 1 day which I knew already ;) 
I was thrown for a bit of a loop with my first OB visit. I made the appointment with Karen, a midwife I know and trust. She delivered our sweet little boy nearly 4 years ago! So I show up and things are a little different but for the most part I know what to expect. Well in walks Lori, a midwife I have never met. This threw me back a bit so I was hesitant to be personable with her. They wanted a lot of personal information that I don't see how it relates to my pregnancy. 
I proudly answered, "married" and "planned pregnancy" to two of her questions. 
So after mounds of paperwork, questions and them wanting to test the crap out of us we get down to the physical end of it. I was probed, poked, scraped, squeezed, stretched, pushed and pulled on. Finally, Lori brought out the little doppler and we held our breath! 
Immediately that little heartbeat popped right up loud and clear! Such a relief. Tim and I looked at each other and just smiled, it was the most beautiful sound I've heard since my first baby's heartbeat! 

Now the heart rate was 155 which according to my mom (the expert babymaker) means it's a boy. However I'm going to find out what Asher's was next time I go in to find out and see if he was on track and maybe that'll give me an indication if this one will be. Although I really like the idea of the sonogram being a complete surprise when they tell us what it is. 

Speaking of sonogram, they want me to get one on Friday to confirm my due date. I didn't have that with Asher and questioned it but she said they always do it and wasn't sure why I didn't have it the first time. Oh well, we get a early peek at the little peanut! So here's to hoping Tim can get off work in time to make it!

I have been learning a lot about myself over the last 6 months through the sermons at church, it's amazing what is revealed when you are genuinely challenged! In our world we are taught to be politically correct, don't offend anyone. But Jesus was very offensive, we are supposed to be like Jesus. Standing up for what is right regardless of what people think. If we could all do that it would be a different world.

The Hard Part

Genevieve Taylor Labor finally started on Thursday 9/22 after a few false alarms over the previous weeks where I had regular yet inconsistent contractions for hours. I went to bed feeling them but had experienced that so many times before I didn’t think it was real, by 3am I couldn’t sleep through them anymore so I grabbed my phone to time them and see if there was any pattern, They were 3-5 minutes apart and a minute long but the intensity of them was still fairly mild. I got up and moved around, drank some water, ate some eggs and the contractions changed but didn’t stop. I decided to give my midwives a heads up as I was also experiencing some bleeding. Because of the bleeding they decided to come over and check things out around 6am. It was so exciting, it seemed the baby was finally coming! Feeling sentimental and Making a Mess!

What have I been up to? See the title of this post.. Last week was Asher's last few days of Kindergarten. I finally understand why all the moms feel all the feels those last few days their babies are in school. Not only was my baby becoming a FIRST GRADER (I'm way too young to have a first grader, for serious) but they were his last days in public school. We're HOMESCHOOLING for first grade and beyond! I am excited and nervous to start on this journey, we enjoyed our public school experience for the most part and I know homeschooling is going to be a lot on me but it's what's right for us :) About the mess making part, I've gotten back into my quilting projects and LOVING it. It turns out I'm not the only one, I have a few orders from friends for their own "Made with Love" quilts! I get excited all over again each time I purchase new fabric..
