A little story (long but with pictures!)

Image
Here's just a little insight into the last 4 years of my life for those of you who don't know. The summer of 2008 was kind of crazy for me, I had big time disobeyed my parents, been asked to leave their house. I moved in with my Grandmom, then moved in with a friend who went crazy and kicked me out at 2am. Thank God for Emily and her futon that night. So I was house hopping night to night, worrying my mother to death and too prideful to come back home. That was the summer I met Donny. This guy was charismatic, seemingly had a great relationship with God and believed everything I did. I was treated the way I thought was right, he adored me and while I didn't admit it for a while, I thought the world of him as well. We made very poor choices that summer and I ended up pregnant. We were devastated but I decided to love my baby and raise this child regardless of the consequences. The timing happened to be that Donny was about to leave on a missions trip, I'll leave ...

"For this child I have prayed and the Lord granted me the desires of my heart." ~ 1 Samuel 1:27 I'm proud to finally announce Baby Burton #2 is due April 2013!!! God has truly blessed us. We haven't known much longer than you have but we're so excited we couldn't wait to share the news much longer :) Especially Tim. This being my second pregnancy I have a little more patience but Tim was so excited we decided to 'spill the beans.' We don't have a EDD yet, we'll go to the Dr's in October and find out what it is. But I calculated I'm due the last week in April (same week Asher was due). Which also means we should find out the gender in December! I can't wait to find out what we're having. I'd like to also keep the name that we end up choosing until the baby is born ;) This pregnancy has been different from my first and lots of people have suggested maybe it's because it's a girl! That would be so fun. I will b...

asher goes to preschool!

We got up and ready, ate breakfast, took our vitamins and out the door we went! Off to preschool at HCC in Churchville. Asher was ecstatic that the day he's been asking about for the last 6 months had finally arrived! Then I told him I was going to stay with him for class today. That brought his spirits down a little but I assured him it was only for today. Our 'walking into preschool on the first day' photo had no smiles but a very solemn look. I think he was a little nervous about school. As soon as we walked into his classroom off he went to play with his new friends! I love love love his teacher, Mrs Joan. She's wonderful with kids and parents alike, she obviously loves her job and puts a lot of effort into it. Everything they will be doing at preschool are all the things Asher loves to do! Today we sang songs, read stories, did a fire drill, posted the weather, the date, pledged allegiance and even did the hokey pokey! Asher is going to love his presch...

ahhhhh....

I'm sitting alone in a hotel room doing whatever the heck I want to. Explanation: Our friends bought tickets and got a room (for all of us) for a concert in VA as our wedding present. Last minute I decided this concert is really not what I want to be doing and gave up my ticket to someone who would enjoy it much more than me! So I still get to come along for the ride and enjoy the company and the hotel room, going out to eat and all. I do NOT mind sitting alone for a few hours ;) So I brought books, scrapbooking, going to get started on the Christmas letter, make a grocery list. You know, all those things I can't seem to find time for at home! Asher is staying at Mom Mom and Pop Pop's tonight and didn't look back when I dropped him off! I do miss that little sticky face but it's nice to just enjoy some alone time.

One of those days..

I would've been happy lying in bed all day with Asher in my pajama's! Of course it's the one day I'm booked solid with work. Guess I should at least put a bra on... Last night we decided to pull out a DVD to watch with Asher before bed. Initially we thought we'd stop it halfway through to finish tonight, but wouldn't you know it that kid sat through the whole thing! Asher loved it! Now all he talks about is "Buddy the Elf." When he woke up he said he wants to watch it again. In other news, I saved a bunch of money on my.............triple play plan :) Comcast is practically giving away their service in order to get their customers back. Which works for me, from what I understand they have improved all the problems and have fantastic prices. As a result we're getting EVERYTHING for $40 less than getting half of everything and a $300 credit on our account. That means instead of paying for our bill, we can pay off the last bill and the cancellatio...

Social Media

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but my posts seem to generate a lot of contention and abrasive comments. Especially from people I don't expect! Honestly the things I post are not controversial! One time I asked where to buy "Fifty Shades of Grey." Another time I posted that my husband and I were looking into becoming 'puppy parents' and excited about it. Maybe people don't like that I never post a depressing status and feel like my facebook needs more negativity. Beware, if I don't like what you posted, I WILL delete it. That being said I've decided not to post much anymore. Like I just decided this week. So for a few days now I have not produced any statuses or check-in's. I don't want people to judge where I've been or what I'm doing. I'm officially "offline" at all times. I have had a friend who always deleted everything on her wall and now I understand why! Well that's what I have to say for today...

Day of Rest

Today has felt like the longest day I've had in a very long time. Asher woke up and told me he had a special dream. He said Jesus was in his dream and told "the man" to go and he did. I was so filled with joy when my baby told me Jesus visited him! Asher has been developing a relationship with Jesus this last week or so, talking with him and praying. He pretends with Jesus that they go to heaven and get freeze pops :) We went to church today and it was one of those, I'd rather stay home and be productive days. Of course everyone knows those are the days you're really supposed to be in church! Well today was no exception. It started off fairly normal with the exception of the presence of God being a bit more tangible than normal. I found myself getting distracted with my own thoughts until Pastor Jason bound the spirit of distractions and came against them. Instantly I was completely focused on worshipping my King. It was great! Well Pastor Jason gave a wonde...
