Our New Church

Well we have officially found a new church in Raleigh! We visited several before choosing this one. Each week we get more and more confirmation that this is where God wants us! The scripture verse that has carried me through this move is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.." Well guess what, the very FIRST week we attended the Pastor quoted that verse!
It all started when I was feeling overwhelmed by the choice of churches in Raleigh and I googled "spirit filled churches in Raleigh" and the first thing that came up was Raleigh First Assembly. I thought to myself, this could be it! We looked over the website and it seemed pretty awesome.

Each Sunday we have left church feeling challenged and encouraged! I love it! When the service lets out I kind of want to sit and soak in what we just experienced but the children's ministry wants us to pick up the kids, I don't know what's up with that.. Tim has renewed his relationship with the Lord taking it to the next level as well. On Resurrection Sunday Tim was baptized in front of over 800 people.

This past weekend we attended their "Basix" class (membership) and learned everything we needed to know about the church and it's Pastor. Tim and I both felt confident we were in the right place and signed up for membership and to serve in the church! We're super excited to get involved and meet new people!

Yesterday we continued a series called Demon Slayer (about spiritual warfare) which has hugely changed our family. It has strengthened us as we learn our power in Jesus Christ and how to overcome our past.
Yesterday I felt as though I was released from having to be someone I am not. Pastor Chad preached about how competitiveness keeps us from understanding our position of being in Christ. I came home encouraged to be who the Lord made me and be the best person I can be! Not to be better than anyone else.

All of this said it still feels strange to say something about "our church" or "our pastor" when it's not in reference to RCC in MD. They are sorely missed, and no one can come close to that worship team! <3

Whom Shall I Fear?

I have been learning a lot about myself over the last 6 months through the sermons at church, it's amazing what is revealed when you are genuinely challenged! Over the last week I've found myself wondering what others would think of something I had to share and how it would be received. It made me very aware of how much I care what others think. In our world we are taught to be politically correct, don't offend anyone. But Jesus was very offensive, we are supposed to be like Jesus. Standing up for what is right regardless of what people think. If we could all do that it would be a different world.

Feeling sentimental and Making a Mess!

What have I been up to? See the title of this post.. Last week was Asher's last few days of Kindergarten. I finally understand why all the moms feel all the feels those last few days their babies are in school. Not only was my baby becoming a FIRST GRADER (I'm way too young to have a first grader, for serious) but they were his last days in public school. We're HOMESCHOOLING for first grade and beyond! I am excited and nervous to start on this journey, we enjoyed our public school experience for the most part and I know homeschooling is going to be a lot on me but it's what's right for us :) About the mess making part, I've gotten back into my quilting projects and LOVING it. It turns out I'm not the only one, I have a few orders from friends for their own "Made with Love" quilts! I get excited all over again each time I purchase new fabric.. The Hard Part

Genevieve Taylor Labor finally started on Thursday 9/22 after a few false alarms over the previous weeks where I had regular yet inconsistent contractions for hours. I went to bed feeling them but had experienced that so many times before I didn’t think it was real, by 3am I couldn’t sleep through them anymore so I grabbed my phone to time them and see if there was any pattern, They were 3-5 minutes apart and a minute long but the intensity of them was still fairly mild. I got up and moved around, drank some water, ate some eggs and the contractions changed but didn’t stop. I decided to give my midwives a heads up as I was also experiencing some bleeding. Because of the bleeding they decided to come over and check things out around 6am. It was so exciting, it seemed the baby was finally coming!
