Dreams do come true

You know how we always think about what we want next out of life, or how we wish this situation was different? Well I do, too much. Sometimes I wish my relationship with my husband was new and exciting like it was when we first met. But we're MARRIED, married people don't LIKE each other.

Last night I collapsed on the bed after a long day and he put his hand on the side of my face and stroked my cheek with his thumb. Really sweet right? My first thought was, why are mens hands always so warm?! But then I realized, this is it, this is what I always wanted out of my life. When I was 18 all I could talk about was finding a man that loved me and who I am enough to spend forever with me. Yet lately, I find myself missing way we were when we were new. But then I realized, I have all the things I spent so much time daydreaming about!

Together we have 3 amazing kids who each bring something different and special into our lives, I get to stay at home to raise these guys (only with the Lord's guidance because He knows I couldn't do it alone!) and we're homeschooling while my husband provides financially.
I'm in a season of my life where my perspective is changing, I always thought of myself as a glass half full kind of girl but apparently not as much as I could have been.
Seeing my life in a new light has been wonderful!

Our baby is 6 months old now, I've wrestled with needing to know if she was our last. Every day I start to think, this could be the last ____ and have to consciously shift my thinking to just being grateful for that day and what it holds. I love the quote by C.S. Lewis that says, "Children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work." This has become something I remind myself of daily when my mojo gets interrupted on a craft project or someone desperately needs my attention.

My sweet Ana bug is always smiling and happy, but she LOVES to be held when she's awake. This has caused me to sit back and rest more, to just enjoy her, and the other two kids for that matter. Elyanna has been a good reminder to just sit and be. I'm so grateful for what she has added to our family.

All this to say, I encourage all of my friends to change your thought process and to pick out what you love, focus on that and the other stuff doesn't seem so bad.
